Sheradith Hope Fultz, 86, of Campbell passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025 in the comfort of her home.
Friends were invited to calling hours from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18 at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water St., Dundee, where her funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, with Pastor Lawrence Semans officiating. Inurnment will be in Hillside Cemetery at the convenience of the family. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date to be announced.

Hope was born July 15, 1939 in Elmira, the middle daughter of Glenn J. and Edith Mae (Buck) Vedder. She graduated from Watkins Glen High School in 1957. She moved to Endicott with her brother and worked for Endicott Shoes before getting married, July 29, 1961 in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania to Martin M. Fultz Jr. who passed away April 5, 1998. While raising her family, she was employed as a waitress and event assistant for Hilton, and Holiday Inn in Corning. Later in life Hope became a loved home health care aid for various families in Steuben County, a job she loved up until a few years ago. Mrs. Fultz volunteered for her local election board; and loved flowers, and watching birds and animals.
A loving mother and grandmother, she will be dearly missed by a son, Martin L. Fultz of Penn Yan; her two daughters, Rhonda L. Wright of Campbell and Karen L. Graham with whom she made her home; eight grandchildren, Holly (Dillon) Haag, Stephanie Fultz, Robert Wright, Ryan Wright, Jessica Demyan, Angela (Derek) Nichols, Zachary (McKayla Dumbleton) Hoke and Kristy (Jason) Heffner; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Ben (Joyce) Vedder of Himrod, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Charity B. Ovenshire in 1992 and Faith G. Haight-McDowell in 2021.

Johanna “Joey” Lochner of Himrod passed away peacefully Aug. 11, 2025, with her husband by her side. Joey’s warmth, humor, and kindness touched everyone she met. She worked as a para educator in the Webster Central School District, hairdresser, and later in Finger Lakes winery tasting rooms, always bringing joy to those around her. She is survived by her husband, Tom; children, Matt (Rachel) and Maria (Kevin); and four beloved grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, Aug. 24, 1-4 p.m., at Tabora Farm & Winery, 4978 Lakemont Himrod Road, Dundee. All are welcome.

Dr. James Edward Luke, 81, passed away peacefully with family in Corry, Pennsylvania, Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025. Jim was born in Bradford, Pennsylvania June 18, 1944 to Robert John Luke and Dorothy Irene Layfield. After graduating from St. Bernard Catholic School, he achieved a B.S., M.S., and then a Ph.D. in entomology from Penn State University. He worked for Ciba-Giegy conducting research on various agricultural products while farming grapes as a hobby. In 1977, he made the full transition to farming, starting Luke Farms in Dundee. Luke Farms produced three different grape varieties along with blueberries, peaches, cherries, raspberries and corn. Jim went on to operate several businesses including an Agriculture Research Company, A.C.D.S., in Phelps, and the Gold and Silver Exchange in Canandaigua.
At various points throughout his career, he taught math, science and small engine repair. He was a principal for both St. Mary’s Elementary School in Potsdam, New York and Morristown Central School in Morristown, New York. He finished his career working for the state of New York at the social services office in Penn Yan, retiring in 2011.
Jim was an avid hunter, fisherman, biologist, woodworker and conservationist. He taught hunter safety education for over 40 years and was passionate about educating children. He belonged to the Himrod Field and Stream Conservation Club, the Penn Yan Moose Club, the National Wild Turkey Federation, and was a lifetime NRA member.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Marilyn J. Nielsen; an infant daughter, Catherine; and a brother, Robert Alexander. He is survived by his daughters: Elizabeth Ann (Curt) Meeder and grandsons Henry and Daniel; Christina Irene (Christopher) Brink and grandson Christopher Connor; Victoria Marie (Kyle) Boehmer and grandsons James, Alexander, and John. He is also survived by a brother, Raymond John (Catherine) Luke; a son, David (Joyce) Neely with granddaughter Brenda (Tim) Houk and great-granddaughters Emilee and Abigail; and a significant friend Cartha Conklin.

On May 29, 1959 in the Penn Yan Methodist Church she married Dale Edward Ward who passed away March 12, 2019. A former employee of Westinghouse in Bath, she had also worked for Seneca Foods. While raising her family from 1962-1978, she enjoyed working at Fred’s Chicken House in Dundee. After Fred’s she worked for several years at the Ranch House, the bowling alley, and Dundee Pharmacy, finally retiring in 1996. Mary was also a former member of the Dundee F.D. Ladies Auxiliary.
She is dearly loved and will be forever missed by her daughter Barbara J. Centurelli with whom she made her home in the last few years; and two sons, Thomas L. Woodruff Sr. of Sherwood, Arkansas, and Michael D. Ward who lived right next door to her; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harry (Kathy) Hurd of Winder, Georgia, Robert Hurd of South Carolina and Roy Hurd of Apopka, Florida; a sister, Betty Hamilton of Hornell; sister-in-law Joyce (Ben) Vedder of Himrod and several nieces and nephews.
The family extends a special thank you to Juanita Schmidt for her loving, wonderful care, which allowed Mary to remain in her home. “Mary loved her like a daughter.”

Robert “Bob” C. Hallock, 82, of Hannacroix, New York, passed away peacefully May 18, 2025 with family by his side.
Born July 6, 1942, Bob was the son of Cecil Charles and Betsy Miller Hallock. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Ann Hallock, his brother Peter Hallock, and his sister Carolyn Hallock Hansen. He is survived by his brother Larry Hallock and many loving nieces and nephews.
After graduating University at Buffalo (Class of 1962), Bob spent his career in civil service for New York state. He followed in his father’s footsteps as town supervisor of New Baltimore, serving from 1982 to 1984 and again in 1990.
Bob designed and built their A-frame home with Ann in 1969 —modern, distinctive, and full of character, just like him. He was a talented pianist, often entertaining family, friends, and his church community. Known for his quick wit, he always had a joke ready to share.
He had a passion for cartoons, collecting elephants, and honoring local history. He devoted decades to the Bronck Museum and the Greene County Historical Society, where he frequently portrayed General Greene in educational programs.
A joint celebration of life for both Bob and Ann Hallock will be held Saturday, Aug. 23 at the First United Methodist Church of Coxsackie, with calling hours from 1–2 p.m. and a service at 2 p.m.

A priest, an imam, and a rabbit are donating blood. The nurse asks, “what’s your blood type?” The rabbit says, “well I don’t know about these guys, but I’m pretty sure I’m a typo.”

She is loved and will be forever missed by her husband of 55 years, David P. Bambey at home; two daughters, Jean T. (William) Rowley of Brockport, New York and Laura L. (Paul) Little of Chittenango, New York; a son, David “Phil” A. Bambey of Nokomis, Florida; five grandchildren, Hannah Applebaum, Edward Rowley, Frank Vair, William (Amy) Vair, and Paul Vair; two great-grandchildren, Rubin and Zechariah Vair; three sisters, Jean (Bob) Richardson of Florida, Marjorie (John) Jeren of Ohio, Phyllis Hammond of Florida; along with several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were Tuesday, July 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water St., Dundee, where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee.

Carol was born Nov. 17, 1942 in Jamaica, Queens, New York, the daughter of Frederick and Rosemary (Riordan) Mohr. After her father’s death her mother’s second husband Phillip Barberie raised her. She graduated from Hicksville High School in 1960. On May 23, 1970 in Locust Valley, New York she married David P. Bambey. They moved to the Finger Lakes in 1981. W. Keith Boorom, 74, of Dundee passed away due to an unexpected health issue, with his loving family at his side, Monday, July 21, 2025 at Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester.

Keith was born Aug. 17, 1950 in Penn Yan, to William K. and Beverly J. (Eyrich) Boorom. He graduated from Dundee Central School in 1969. A lifelong local resident, he worked numerous jobs in retail sales, accounting, and hospitality before he discovered his calling in the wine industry, working in the tasting rooms, and ushering tours spanning 50 years for numerous local wineries, including Bully Hill, Glenora, Castle Grisch, Fulkerson, and currently Tabora. A longtime attendee of the Dundee Baptist Church, he loved jazz music, interior design, and was an OCD sock hoarder.
He is loved dearly and will be missed by his two sisters, Susan L. Long of Dundee and Judi A. (Gary DeJong) Messenger of Pinetown, North Carolina; his niece Megan (Anthony) Hill, her daughter Aubrey Boorom, and nephew Matthew E. Messenger, all whom he loved as his own; his brother, Thomas E. Boorom of Fruitland Park, Florida; along with several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Nina M. DeJong, and Kimberly R. Margeson.

Harry W. “Hank” Moore III, 83, went to be with the Lord June 11, 2025 while living with his beloved wife, Linda Downey Moore, at their daughter’s home. Hank and Linda had shared 59 years of marriage.
Born in Riverhead, New York, Hank was the oldest son of Kathleen Patricia Smith Moore and Harry W. Moore, Jr. He graduated from SUNY Cortland with a bachelor’s degree in physics and a minor in math. Throughout his career, Hank worked as both an electrical and mechanical engineer, eventually retiring from B.F. Goodrich Space Systems.Hank had a very creative mind and held many patents in various areas of technology. He enjoyed collecting and fixing things, reading and explaining to anyone who would listen how things worked scientifically. He also enjoyed listening to music and singing in the church choir when he was able.
Hank is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter, Madeleine Miller (Mark McCartney); grandchildren, Heather Miller (Christopher Bernadino), April Moore, Anthony Miller and Clarabelle Moore; sisters-in-law, Jan Cook-Moore, Diana Moore and Janice Downey; brother-in-law, Glenn Downey, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Harry W. Moore IV, and brothers, John and Daniel Moore.
The memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 16 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Watkins Glen.

Joan Marie Scanlon Todd, 87, passed away peacefully July 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family: Roland Todd and Robert and Sherri Todd.
Born Jan. 30, 1938, in Watkins Glen, Joan was the daughter of John and Pauline Scanlon. Later in life, she returned to Watkins Glen, where she lived for many years with her husband, Frederick Todd, of Montour Falls. Joan cherished her time spent on Seneca Lake with family and was a devoted member of her community and was a Eucharistic Minister for Saint Mary of the Lake Catholic Parish in Watkins Glen and Saint James Parish in Trumansburg.
A lifelong caregiver, Joan’s nurturing spirit extended to both family and friends in need. She was passionate about dance and music, becoming a professional dance instructor at Arthur Murray Dance School. Joan also had a career as a special education teacher at TST BOCES in Ithaca, where she positively impacted the lives of many students.
Joan found joy in outdoor activities, particularly golfing with her family and friends. One of her proudest moments on the course was achieving a hole-in-one — before her son Robert, a PGA Professional.
Joan was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband, her brother, Bill Scanlon, her twin sister Julie Mathews, and her sister-in-law Kay Scanlon. She is survived by her sons, Roland (Laurie) Todd and Robert (Sherri) Todd; her brother, Jack Scanlon; her grandchildren, Nichole (Tim) Furey, Ashley (Ian) Barczewski, Madeline (Nick) Picco and Ryan Hughes; her great-grandchildren, Caroline Furey, Hazel Malloney, Harper Barczewski and Lucille Picco; and several nieces and nephews.

Evelyn Jean “Sis” Jayne, 95, of Dundee passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at The Homestead in Penn Yan.
Honoring her wishes there will be no prior calling hours; the family invites friends to attend a Celebration of Her life starting at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at the Dundee American Legion, 10 Spring St., Dundee. A remembrance service will be held at 5 p.m. with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Inurnment will be private in Hillside Cemetery in Dundee.
“Sis” was born July 2, 1930 in the town of Starkey, one of 10 children of Olin Eugene and Anna Laura (Fultz) Paddock. She left school early at the age of 16, to help support the family by being the head waitress and cook at the Knotty Pine in Dundee. On June 5, 1957 in Baltimore, Maryland she married Raymon “Jess” Jayne Jr., who passed away Aug. 2, 1976. She was a bookkeeper for G.L.F. and Seneca Foods before purchasing the grocery aptly named Jayne’s Grocery in Himrod, which she ran until 1977.
A lifelong area resident, she enjoyed being a snowbird from 1983-2008. While in Florida during the winters, she worked at the visitor’s center of Ocala National Forest. Mrs. Jayne attended the Dundee Methodist Church, and was a member of American Legion Bradley-Jessop Post #660, Ladies Aux.
Loved by everyone who ever met her, she will be especially missed by her son, Gary R. (Marge) Gilbert of Luray, Virginia; two grandsons, Daniel Gilbert also of Luray, Virginia, and Corey Gilbert of Newfield, New York; a great-grandson, Jacob Gilbert; a brother, James E. (Cindy) Paddock and three sisters, Mary Lou Webster, Jane Ellen (Raymond) Miller and Betty Ann Hansen, all of Dundee; her dear companion of 40 years Claude Pulver’s son Richard (Brenda) Pulver and their family whom she loved as her own; along with countless nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her longtime companion Claude Pulver; three brothers, George, Ralph and “Dick” Paddock; two sisters, Eleanor Thompson and Nancy Briggs; and the father of her son, Robert Gilbert.
